Alberta Health Services is seeking Respiratory Therapists for our Intensive Care Units at the Peter Lougheed Centre. You'll provide critical respiratory care to some of our most complex patients, managing mechanical ventilation, airway management, and respiratory therapy interventions.
Working in a Level 3 ICU, you'll collaborate with critical care physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop advanced skills in respiratory care and critical care medicine. We're looking for RTs who are passionate about critical care and want to work in a challenging, rewarding environment.
The Peter Lougheed Centre is one of Calgary's major acute care hospitals, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and serving the northeast Calgary community.
Requirements
• Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
• Current registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT)
• Previous ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification required or must obtain within 6 months
• Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation and critical care principles
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in life-threatening situations
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care
