Petroleum Engineer

Suncor Energy is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer to join our Fort McMurray operations team. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the world's largest oil sands projects, applying innovative engineering solutions to optimize production and efficiency. You'll be part of a team that's committed to responsible resource development and operational excellence. In this position, you'll conduct reservoir analysis, design well completion strategies, and optimize production operations. You'll work closely with geologists, operations staff, and environmental specialists to ensure safe and efficient extraction processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to Suncor's position as a leader in sustainable energy production. • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline; Master's preferred • 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas production, preferably in oil sands • Strong knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and production optimization • Proficiency with industry software (Petrel, Eclipse, CMG, or similar) • P.Eng designation or eligibility for APEGA registration • Experience with steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) is highly desirable • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote sites
