Information Security Specialist

ATB Financial is seeking an Information Security Specialist to help protect our systems, data, and customers. In this role, you'll implement security controls, monitor for threats, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with banking security regulations. This is a critical role in safeguarding one of Alberta's most trusted financial institutions. You'll work with security technologies including SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools. Collaborating with IT teams and business units, you'll help embed security best practices across the organization. This role offers exposure to banking security, regulatory compliance, and enterprise security operations. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field • 2-4 years of information security experience, preferably in financial services • Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and banking regulations • Experience with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners) • Knowledge of network security, application security, and identity management • Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable • Understanding of PCI-DSS and privacy regulations (PIPEDA) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication abilities to work with technical and business stakeholders • Ability to participate in on-call rotation
